
What is dial-a-ride?
Dial-a-ride (DAR) is a wheelchair accessible door to door transport service tailored to meet the needs of Tendring residents enabling people to access vital medical appointments, social activities, shopping, visit friends, access education, training and volunteering opportunities.
Service users are able to book their pick up and return times to fit around appointment times (if applicable.)

Tendring Community transport is a safe, accessible, cost-effective, flexible transport run by the community for the community.
When does Dial-a-ride operate?
Dial-a-ride operates Monday-Friday 09:00 -17:00
Note: There is no service on bank holidays.
Areas of operation

How much does it cost?
Adults £5.00 single, £10.00 return.
Children: Aged 5-15 £2.50 single, £5.00 return.
Children under 5: Free
Free to passengers with a concessionary bus pass.
This service is open to all Tendring residents.

If you are new to Tendring Community Transport before you can use our services you will need to register with us.
When calling to register we will ask you for the following information:

🔵 Address
🔵 Telephone number
🔵Details of any mobility aids you may use
🔵 Details from you bus pass, please have this to hand when you call if you have one
Important
When booking your seat please tell us if you use a wheelchair, electric scooter, walking frame or require the use of the passenger tail lift.
If you use a wheelchair or an electric wheelchair/scooter our safety officer will arrange to visit you at your home to assess whether it is safe for you to travel on our vehicles.
It is important to give us as much notice as possible.
Dial-a-ride is a very popular service and you may not always obtain your preferred booking. However we will always try to offer an alternate date and time.
It helps everyone if you are prepared to be flexible.
